1.19.2 Feedback
« on: June 09, 2012, 08:03:10 PM »
I love the new rooms, especially the one that is full of spikes, trap doors and teleport traps. Awesome room. There were a lot of nice additions regarding rooms.

I found a small problem with mana potions. When you use one, it add a amount of mana (around 25mp) regardless of your max mp. If you have 20 of current mana and 25 of max mana, the potion let you in 40 current even when your max is still 25. The extra mana that should not be there can be used normally.

The training room works pretty well now.

I stopped playing for a few versions but have picked it back up just recently.  Very good work with the updates.  The game seems a lot smoother again and finding the tutorial area was a nice little surprise.  I like the fact that you changed how often the bookshelves will have books in them.  The dungeon design itself is getting much better as well and the smooth walls look is great.  Loving the mana bar even though the mana system seems like its still being worked on.

Only prob I've had is it seems like the tap to move isn't working in landscape mode.  When I flip my phone up tap to move works fine but change back to landscape nogo.  Not really a big deal actually since everything else that's happening is awesome.  This game has come a loooong way already can't wait to see where it goes next.
When in doubt.  Scroll of Recall

There's an option to enable pathfinding in landscape mode. The reason why it isn't on by default is that players who use the d-pad sometimes accidently click outside the dpad and then start to pathfind to that point.

I've just installed a new version (after removing the old one first and resetting the phone)
and the bug with no quests appearing untill the player ventures into regular dungeon
first has hit me again. It was ok with all following games tho.

Here's a couple bugs and issues, smaller and bigger.

- Targets which are out of bows' range are still displayed as "green".
- Kills scored by Ranger's Dog give no exp.
- Amulet of Thot is still subject to prefixes typical to Wizards' items (Meek, Drained, Charged etc.).
- Entering The Training Grounds resets Scrolls' of Recall anchor point to Forest level.
- When leveling up after killing an enemy with ranged spell, the cursor position is set to the player
instead of quitting the targetting mode.
- When pushing a block onto checkered tile, it won't move, giving a message about a wall blocking it.
- When pushing a block into depleted trap, it will jump over it, moving 2 tiles at a time.
- Creatures summoned by the enemies are sometimes generated asleep, funny.

P.S. I know it should rather go into general/suggestions board, but Exolon's Helmet is kinda weak.
Yngar's one is way more powerfull, why not add a "lightsource" property to it, to balance it out?

P.P.S. Merged two posts into one.

Mateusz: Good list of issues. Some comments:

* I will fix Amulet of Thot
* I will add a lightsource to Exolon's helmet
* I will aslo fix the incorrectly colored targeting reticle
* Summoned creatures will never start asleep in the next version
* Pushable stone blocks is a hassle. I will leave them as they are for now.
* It's not a big problem that you're still in targeting mode after gaining a level is it?
* It will be too much work to change so that Scroll of Recall ignores the training grounds

I guess noone will mind those last 3 points, just letting you know about
everything that doesn't seem to work 100% as intended.

In fact, pushable blocks could use some more changes like blocking diagonal
movement (otherwise there's no way to create "puzzle rooms" within
7x7 space) and preventing them from swapping places with chests or items.

What about exp from Dog's kills?

I will try to address the issue with no xp gain if an ally kills a monster (http://dweller.lighthouseapp.com/projects/88670-dweller/tickets/300-allies-killing-monsters-dont-reward-xp)

I agree that pushable stone blocks are kinda limited and more problemtic than I had hoped for. It is way harder to create sokoban style puzzles when you're allowed to move diagonally.

Sorry, you should still be able to enchant it, but it won't get a prefix.

Can you make the pushable blocks to reset to original position when you leave the floor and come back -that way we can retry puzzle rooms if we push blocks the wrong way.

What about the problem with the Elven Water? It let you ignore your max MP. At the start of the game, the MP is so low that the Elven Water let you double the amount you can use.

I can't. They aren't treated any differently than other rooms. Sorry.

Oh, yes, forgot about that one. Added to todo list: http://dweller.lighthouseapp.com/projects/88670-dweller/tickets/305-elven-water-let-you-temporarily-increase-mana-beyond-your-max-mana

Actually the problem simmilar as enchantable amulet of Toth touches many other unique items.
I keep finding enchanted Armors of Jordan and Black Blades, etc.

Also, I still keep getting frozen "Use/Put into backpack" on my screen, upon being rewarded
for completing a quest with an item (from a cathegory I have no items in yet), when also leveling
up at the same time. I thought that was fixed earlier? I need to look thru the bug tracker thing.

Ow, I'm gonna have a look. I thought that problem was solved to be honest... Added a new issue: http://dweller.lighthouseapp.com/projects/88670-dweller/tickets/306-fix-issue-with-frozen-equip-dialog
