[SPOILERS] Dweller lore - is GK really a goblin?
« on: February 09, 2014, 04:39:32 PM »
In this topic I want to share my theory about who is Goblin King.
In my opinion, Goblin  King is a human mage driven with madness, who found GK's crown and learned how to control its full potential. We all know that equipping the crown changes hero's apperrance, and GK has got human height, and problably even proportions. Also, he must be the mage, because of summoning ability. GK damage comes from weird kind of magic, forgotten in current Dweller times.
Tl;dr - GK is human mage IMO.

Makes sense to me. The game's ending should not be that you return the crown to the merchant, but instead become the new Goblin King, unless you resist the temptation of wearing the crown :D
Behold the Urkraft, behold the sacred force
We strike with the wrath of the rightful
We wield the invincible puritan blade

In my opinion this merchant may be this insane mage, who plans to become the next GK. Anyways, from where he gets his items?

Yeah, that'a a little plot error. That merchant wants you to help his people by defeating the Goblin King but charges you a fortune for useful items. That greedy bastard! Otherwise you may keep all the gold you find in the dungeon which, I assume, belonged to the people you help. Actually not that bad a deal. Maybe we should write a Dweller novel.

This is an interesting theory and it's in line with some end-game images TheShroom drew. They aren't in use yet, but who knows, maybe I'll add them :-)

When I was writing about meechant, I thought about TheShroom's pics. This is what guided me to this conclusion. In fact i remember only "but something went wrong" part, but don't say anyone.
