Summoning issues

Hello there!

I found a few bugs concerning the summoning of allies in the latest version (1.24.18). I played with the warrior.

-I summoned the allied warrior with the horn. He stepped into a trapdoor. I summoned him again and he appeared twice. For a few moves my player disappeared, only the HP bar was shown. When he reappeared, it was really fine having two warriors. So this is not a bug but a blessing. Unfortunately this doesn't happen everytime.

-The other day I summoned my warrior ally and called for more reinforcements with the bag of monsters. The summoned monster was hostile and attacked me and my friend! This also doesn't happen everytime. Maybe this is intended by Björn or maybe my warrior failed to summon due to lack of mana?

-I mostly use weapons that affect multiple targets. So I always kill my warrior ally. I think he should be immune to 'friendly fire' since monsters don't hit each other either. The warrior ally is so sensitive that he gets hit and dies when I pick up items next to him (even if there are no enemies in sight). So he seems to get hit by me no matter WHICH action I take on the neighbouring tile.

Note: In the last case I was on the first level of the dungeon, so there's no chance my ally was poisoned or on fire or anything else that could have possibly killed him in the same moment I picked up an item. This happened a lot so far and I am pretty sure he died from my action and not due to any enemy effects like fire or poison or drain. In spite of that I would prefer a symbol above his head indicating that he's on fire (so I could run him into water) or poisoned or else.

Whoa! Thanks for reporting these issues. I have very little time to work on Dweller right now, but I'll keep these in mind the next time I get into a coding frenzy!

Update: I'm still playing the same game and I've found a second warrior in prison. Maybe that's why he appeared twice? Of course the second warrior only offers a nice "Farewell!", but actually there are two warriors in the game.

Finally got some time to play Dweller a bit and look into this.

- First the Ally cloning issue: It works every time when the Ally
"hides" under the open Trapdoor (see this post). Summoning
again when the Ally is "hidden" will spawn another one of the
same type, without removing the previous. Here's a screen of
my Feline Platoon:

- Second Warrior: It has nothing to do with cloning. A "Warrior
room" is just a regular room like any other and can reappear
a couple times during one playthru. It's just that the quest can
onl be done once, so any subsequent warriors will simply say
"Farewell". It's the same as Trainers in the Training grounds.
They have no other conversation options once their initial quest
is completed.

- Multitarget weapons: Yep, they've always affected allies. You
can even hit neutral NPCs with them, if you aim for a Rat or some
other creature standing nearby.

- Hostile Summons: Just like the Charm spell can fail or expire,
monsters from the Bag of Monsters (and Skeletons from the
Tome of the Lich King) will sometimes turn hostile. Check in this
, the stats for Allies are outdated, but all other info is still

- Warrior's sudden death: No idea what are you referring to, I
haven't seen anything like that in the J2ME version, yet. Maybe
he stepped into a Teleport Trap and didn't just die? Try looking
thru the Message History log for other clues.

Ok, that helped a lot. Yet still my player disappeared when the warrior clones showed up. And my ally stood on the tile next to me, there was no teleport trap and he died with that certain explosion cloud.

Could we please rethink that friendly fire thing? I mean, when I wear the goblin mask I cannot hurt any monsters (except for rats once in a while). So why do I kill my allies? The player is supposed to be a skilled warrior, being able to aim :)
