Hello! I am sorry if this has been reported somewhere else already, but I could not find it. I have version 1.24.16 now and the Minotaur just doesn't appear anymore. Only if I switch levels with a Scroll of Recall, it appears right next to the stairs when I jump back to the labyrinth. I tried 4 times and the result was always the same.

Hmm, odd. He might sometimes step on a trap or roam but not very far. Does this happen every time?

I've played the game over and over again. In the latest version the Minotaur is just not there, no matter how long I roam the fully-explored map. If I leave the labyrinth and then go back, he is always somewhere near the stairs. There's no use to go upstairs to level 1 of the labyrinth, you need to go back to the regular dungeon first, then back to the Mino's lair. Anyway, spike traps would not kill the Minotaur within 15 minutes and I usually go through the labyrinth pretty fast. Does anybody else have the same problem?

PS: Some monsters should be aware of traps anyway, like the bosses or the minions with a brain (goblins, orks). Of course Ooze and rats are stupid enough to kill theirselves.

I've found the Minotaur pretty much near the center with my last
playthru. He's always out there somewhere, just a matter of luck
to run into him earlier, before he wanders off from his spawnpoint.

Try using the Potion of Clairvoyance to see behind the walls, that
really helps against passing him unnoticed.

And just for future, maybe he could be locked inside, behind some
gates, to prevent him from roaming the Maze?

I tried again 3 times this afternoon. He is just not there. He seems to spawn on my second visit only, always near the stairs... Maybe a steel door with only one pressure plate out of his reach could trap him in. Unless he jumps into the portal :D A few days ago he didn't appear at all. If he got killed by traps his axe should have been lying around somewhere on a depleted trap. And the number of traps is limited, how many would it need to kill him? Is he able to walk the stairs to upper levels of the dungeon? I mean, the Minotaur is not that important to me, I was just wondering why he keeps "being late"...

I've experienced this two times (everytime i've reached Labyrinth ;]). Minotaurus was not in the center of maze, but I had to go back and found him nearby. Maybe there is teleport trap, I don't remember. In Goblin Kings chamber are also teleport traps and I've seen Kings teleportation on my own eyes. :) It was funny, but maybe confusing for somebody who don't see it.

Ok, here's the evidence that the Minotaur is not running through the labyrinth: I went straight down to his lair. Without moving through it, I teleported to the surface and back to the labyrinth, and there he was next to the stairs. The problem with this bug is that you find the minotaur without going through the labyrinth and that he appears without any minions around, so the Minotaur Quest is much too easy now.

Doh, found the problem. At some point in time I thought it was a good idea to implement that monsters that moved into a portal got teleported. This is what happens to the minotaur. When you get close to him he activates and tries to move towards you through the portal, thus teleporting him to a random location. I'll fix this.

I kind of like not knowing when I'll encounter the Minotaur.
To be true to the maze concept, the player could be stuck in the maze until they find and kill the Minotaur.
 And the Minotaur could be lurking anywhere....

That's a cool idea! Once you enter the lower maze, a door should close behind you, caging in the stairs. The Minotaur is somewhere and drops a key when killed. He should be able to summon creatures like the Ratking does.

Returned to the maze searched all over, but have not found the Minotaur...

You need to start a new game for the fix to work.
