I like the idea of throw-able weapons -if you miss the item can be picked up - if they hit then they show up in a pile when monster killed -and like any other weapons they can get lost in lava, water, stairs, or if no place to drop. - Warrior should start with 3-4 stones, then be able to find or buy Knife, Hatchet, Throwing Axe, Spear, Discus, boomerang??-these will gives the warrior limited range 1-2 squares, but limits you by max weight you can carry and generally low damage, and limited quantities- maybe off-hand equip-you lose the shield/two handed weapons if you want to have them equipped (but must be able to put in quick slot -uses one turn to remove shield and equip throw-able in not already equipped).
