Vietnamese translation discussions
« on: January 07, 2013, 08:27:26 PM »
A user (Zadezl) has offered to translate to Vietnamese, exciting! I plan to switch to a bitmap font instead of the system native font, but I'm sure I'll be able to find one that has Vietnamese characters as well.

That would recquire a small/medium/large option for font selection too.
Exciting news indeed, maybe I could see a bit more with smaller font.
 ;D
If you remember the sprites from my avatar, know that you're awesome!

Yes, with a bitmap font I'll have full control over font size and this will make stuff a whole lot easier when it comes to making sure things are readable and visible.

I started working today. I think it quite simple but in Vietnamese doesn't have something call like Catnip or Five stringed bow,... Can I translate it into my understanding ( like magical weeds and magical bow...). Also, I only free in Sunday so it take me a long time to finish ( about 2 month ). Is that ok?

Yes, you're more than welcome to change words or sentences to make them easier to translate into your language.

And since you're doing this for free (you will get to create an in-game item of your choice) I can't really expect you to work 24/7 on translation. Translate the game in your own time, it doesn't matter if it takes 2 days or 2 months.

Now I'm almost done ( 96% complete ), I think tomorrow I'll complete translating. So can you add Vietnamese in next version?

Sure thing! Have you given some thought to your artifact?

It's really great when you said that!
And about my artifact, I have no idea about it. Maybe a book or any magical items gives you an abitity to tranform into everything you target, but when you tranform you can't attack or use any items exept potions and that magical item, also monsters can't hurt you. When you use that again, you'll return to normal. It's really fun when you tranform into a tree and across dungeons :). But I think it's hard for you to do this so maybe I'll think about a different idea easier for you to do

It's actually not that hard to add a polymorph spell, but it will require some thought to balance it. I'll give it some thought.
