Enchantment
« on: September 16, 2012, 06:03:50 AM »
Hi!  I recently started playing Version 1.22.4 but I can`t seem to figure out how to enchant an item. I`ve tried to use the scroll of enchantment, but I can`t seem to get it to do anything and don`t know if it`s a bug or I`m just not doing it right. Can someone paint me a picture please? LOL

Good question! I reckon it should be in 'tips and tricks' I think you have to 'use' the scroll, then find the item you want to enchant in your inventory. If you can enchant it there should be a 'select' option under the stats for it. I say 'I think' because whenever I've done that I've never been sure if it's worked or not!

Yep, this is exactly how it works. After using the SoE, inventory screen
opens up and you have to chose an item. If its a valid  item, scrollng
down thru its description will reveal a "select" option.

Usually the message display should read something like:
"You remove the foo
The foo starts to glow! [or Nothing happens]
Stat A changed from W to X
Stat B changed from Y to Z
(...)
It s you! Target? (this line shouldn't appear, to be fixed)
You equip the [might be different prefix] foo"

If you can't see those messages, or only got the last line, check the
Message history in Menu. Or use the option called "Show <more> promts"
in Settings menu so that message display will wait for a key press every
time its full.
If you remember the sprites from my avatar, know that you're awesome!

You can also tell if you can enchant an item by checking the item description (open your inventory and select the item). It should say "It cannot be enchanted" if you can't enchant. Also, there's an increasing chance that nothing happens if you enchant an item several times.
