Btw, why were the jammed doors removed? Its good to have
more random obstacles that might pose a threat to the player
(making one unsure whether the escape route is viable, adding
some risk that the "door bashing" might fail).

What do you guys think of making all the named items become
unenchantable? Once an item hits "named" level via upgrades,
it also gains "can not be ebchanted" status. Right now, all the
random artifacts (not preset ones) can be upgraded continously
to the point of nonsense. Preventing this, would be great in
combination with providing steady supply of SoEs thru shops.

I think an overall +10 limit would be cool with some sort of added "item turns to dust" risk that raises exponentially with every enchant... this way players will want to enchant their artifacts but will also do so at their own risk.  Adds to the satisfaction of actually getting items to a certain point and would make for some interesting bragging rights.
When in doubt.  Scroll of Recall

There is a soft cap where Scrolls of Enchant has little or no efffect. I did a test and spent 20 SoE to get a Shortsword enchanted like this:

Att: 4 -> 13
Def: 3 -> 9
Mag: -3 -> -3
Spd: 0 -> 6

I did some tweaks since I think that is too much and the algorithm I have now results in something like this after 20 SoE:

Att: 4 -> 9
Def: 3 -> 7
Mag -3 to 0
Spd: 0 -> 3

Enemies and summons can smash down locked doors.
Ranger can easily abuse it and just summon the dog
whenever there are locked doors nearby.
And since the enemies still appear to be able to sense
the player thru doors, they will always take down these
locked doors if they're on the other side.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a bad thing that monsters can smash down doors. But yes, having allies smash down doors is probably not good, or there should be some restrictions to it. Maybe the ally must be of a certain size or have a certain attack value to be able to break doors. Trying to charm a troll for the purpose of getting through a locked door is a nice idea I think!
