1.21.3 Feedback
« on: August 16, 2012, 01:31:17 PM »
Ranged weapon cathegory in the inventory screen does not use its
proper name (uses "ITEMCATEGOTY_MISSILES" instead).

Bag of treasure lacks the string which contains the effect name, so
it just reads "It can .". It needs an addition of effect with something
like "contain an item", "create an item" etc.

Accept and Decline messages for quests are now no longer being
translated.

Not a bug but I guess it should work differently: When sharing the
character stats, the resulting text is composed in current language.
I think it should be english no matter what the current language is.

Why spending your time by reading this?

I didn't either, untill I clicked "play now" and seemingly the newest
J2SE (desktop version) build is 1.21.3.

Another thing I've noticed: Dog (and possbly other allies) can swap
places with friendly NPCs freely. This may sometimes lead to a rare
situation when the dog pushes a Trainer into the doorframe locking
the player out. Same might happen with other NPCs blocking the
staircases but then, on open space its easier to solve, in smaller
areas this becomes a real problem.

I'll fix the dogs. Creatures swapping places with each other is done based on the following rule: A creature can swap places with creatures that weigh less than themselves unless the target is the player or immobile.

Weight is a stat on creatures as well as items, although it isn't exported to the data sheet: http://files.dwellergame.com/db/monsters.html

I am unable to reproduce the non-translated Accept Reject text

Ranged weapon category will be fixed

I'll add the "always share in English" to the todo list (http://dweller.lighthouseapp.com/projects/88670-dweller/tickets/388-sharing-character-stats-should-always-result-in-a-character-dump-in-english)

I'll fix the bag of treasure text as well.

I liked the Spanish char dump in the victory thread especially the monster names.  I've been able to play this version the most out of the last few releases and so far so good.  I've left a few corpses behind which reminds me.  Is there something in the works to save a bones file or create the possibility to come across a past characters remains?  I thought I read something to that effect either on this board or on the dev pages somewhere.

How about simply making the NPCs and the dummy immobile then?
This and maybe make immobile creatures immune to teleportation
and push too (this would actually make sense since the only enemy
that is immobile is a plant which should have roots able to hold it in
place anyway).

Yes, this is what was done to the target dummy. Healer and Merchant are already flagged as immobile.

I don't get the purpose of this... Why should you want to create a bones file or past characters remains?

For the sake of immortalising fallen characters. Its common practice
in some games to include tombstones or corpses of previous dead
characters, sometimes one can even get an item off those.

It does make more sense in games when win to lose ratio is much
much smaller than in Dweller, tho. Like about 1:100 or worse in some
hardcore classic Roguelikes.

Oh, I see... I guess you noticed that I didn't play many roguelikes xD Just played POWDER and a few minutes of other ones... However, since I think I'm young to play roguelikes (21) I'm proud of it n.n
Thanks again Mat, you always lighten my doubts ;)
