1.21.0 Language bug and pathfinding.
« on: August 13, 2012, 11:54:44 AM »
Hi there.

I've just tried the last build and I had a problem... Strings that was actually translated are not shown as it and if i exit the game and enter againt it still won't work. (Please Björn, send me another build when you have some time)

On the other hand, we have pathfinding issue. The game gets a pain because it gets an error EVERY STEP you do. This only happened to me when I was playing in spanish. Then I uninstalled completely, reinstalled, played in english, and it worked fine. However, I got this error in 1.20.7 too...

Sorry for the bad english, I made this post in a rush...

Yeah, I did it. I replied in that thread http://forum.dwellergame.com/index.php?topic=168.0

In brief, what happened is that language bug is fixed for me, and pathfinding is not so painful like in the first release. However, I'm still getting that "null pointer" message. I'm pretty sure that this bug is a pathfinding related one because is always shown when try to go to some distant point by tapping the screen, and you can avoid that bug if you disable pathfinding. Those are my investigation results. Hopefully they'll be useful....

Equipement cathegories (helm, chest, cloak, etc.) aren't translated.

The message "You see a Practice dummy. ." is improperly displayed
with 2 periods separated by a space. Same in translated version.

I've figured out what happens - its the same for Instructors too and
the additional " ." results from null description string. Normally when
one sees a creature for the first time, there's a message like:
"You see [name]. [description].", so with empty description string, it
turns into: "You see [name]. ."

If you remember the sprites from my avatar, know that you're awesome!

I changed that string to "You see @0 @1". Not perfect, but at least it gets rid of the double dots.

Why not just add these lacking descriptions for an Instructor and
dummy? Its much easier and won't affect any other "You see x"
messages.
