The new version was released a few days ago. Did any of you try it? If so, what do you think of the new drop rate of gold?
It is better now IMO, but selling in the dungeon still creates gold EXTREMELY fast. Now scrolls of recall seems useless to Ranger...

I have an idea for item - Portable Merchant Bootle, spawns an NPC who buys and sells items. Item can be used only once, but it can be easily found at Forest Merchant with cost 100g. Lower in the dungeon, better the gear. This NPC would be able to be killed by monsters, dropping random ammount of gold.

When it comes to arguments about realism and selling stuff to nothing I think it's quite ok to keep it as it is. A lot of games use the same mechanic.
Well, other games are:
1. Balanced about this feature,
2. Either letting you access shop everywhere or making selling not called selling (example is ToME 3, where after getting special item we can transmute not needed items into gold).
Maybe after some patches it will be good even for me :D. But for now, it is still nonsense IMHO. If you will make a in game explanation for this, then this will be a not bad idea, and after balancing patches it will good/great/awesome (depending on person).
But maybe I am not knowing 'the huge majority', 'gaming trends', etc.
PS I now see that I reacted very negatively just because of name. Sorry!

I've always been under the impression that going back and forth to the surface is a chore that takes some of the fun out of the game, but maybe I'm wrong...
I think it depends on person. For me it is just stupidity selling item to err... air? Floor? Void? And when you misclick there is no way to get that Scroll of Upgrade back. Also until this post I thought it was a bug!
But maybe for others... it may be good idea. Just good.

I think that selling from inventory is very bad idea. It just makes making money way too easy.

You mean impossible mode now.
In my opinon monsters should have slighty buffed stats, but player would have no xp gain from traps and would gain a stat point every two levels. In addition, Scroll of Recall would have higher drop chance, but they would be unbuyable. No scrolls of enchanting, no named artifacts, no charming book, no items with status resistance, levitation or summons. Yes, even my favourite dog. The only quests existent in hardcore mode should be GK questline.

hmm there are already named monsters in the game but im not sure how they spawn,
whether they spawn naturally or like u said,
can the admin pls clarify on this?
They spawn naturally of course, but the chance is low.

I was unclear with my vitality potion idea: I was proposing a potion that increases HP only, as there are potions that increase all the other stats, be it the potion of change or wizardry or what have you.
Now the potion name makes sense :D

Muscle potion would make a lot of sense if the carrying capacity didn't increase with Character Level alone, like it does now...
Muscle potion still makes sense IMHO. Backpack cap rises slowly, so the potions would be nice. But better set them at 50-100 gold, to not make more (nearly always) useless 10k gold items.

Vitality potion - name would be confusing, because vitality often raises HP. And we have Potions of Change.
Muscle potion - I WANT THIS.
Artifact - Rangers are OP, but I WANT THIS.

You should try (in this particular order):
1. Redownload & reinstall Dweller (most obvious)
2. Answer to a question if this bug existed in previous versions of Dweller,
3. Check the other Linux distributions for the bug,
4. Ask Bjorn for font name in J2SE Dweller and try to install it,
5. Post the effects of your efforts,
6. Consider usage of Android or J2ME version or hope for bugfix. (only if the problem was not solved of course)

Well, I have found one graphical bug - pressure plate looks like normal floor.
And, before Polish pepole realize the lack 'ż' letter, insert it into the game. We are the masters of complaining :D
