Title: Overworld ideas

Could we have a boss for the over world ?In the main dungeon,you find a key and it opens a door at the foot of a large tree.
Boss:Shaman
Drops:Trinket that gives bear ally.

I'm afraid I have to disappoint you, but the overworld will not contain quests and monsters like this. I want the forest level to be a safe harbor for the player where he can relax and prepare for the next visit down the dungeon.

no,this is totally up to the player whether he wants to attempt the boss or not.
